Jordan Davings glanced over her shoulder from her suit case as three other teen girls entered her bedroom. "Hey, the guys send you three over to rush me?" She asked with an amused grin, looking around the room for anything that she might have missed.
"Yeah, you know how they get when they're actually all packed and one of us isn't. It's suddenly the end of the world," Mercedes Counts grinned over at her best friend since childhood. "I told you to pack last night. Apparently you didn't listen to me," she continued glancing at Jordan’s suitcase that lay on the bed.
Jordan shrugged with a grin. "Well, I didn't so now I am. We should be going to the beach or at least Florida for spring break. Hot guys, beaches and fun for miles around, but instead, where are we going? A house in the middle of Louisiana for a week of absolutely nothing, why are we going here again?"
"Because, we have our own hot guys and can make our own adventure?" Piper Allison asked with a grin, amusement apparent in her eyes. "Add to that, it's rumored to be haunted. Although, it's thirty or so minutes away from the nearest town, I'm pretty sure we'll still have fun."
"Plus, Ben will be there so there's your hot guy for the week," Mercedes smirked at Jordan, her best friend having a rather large crush on her surrogate brother-slash-father although she wouldn't tell anyone.
Purposely ignoring Mercedes' comment, Jordan looked around once more. "Alright, so ghosts, hot guys, adventure, this should be so much fun."
"You know it will be. Always is when the eight of us are all together in one house for a long period of time," Hoshiko Allison, the twin and complete opposite of Piper Allison, grinned. "We ready? We need to head out soon. Bad enough the guys didn't wake up till one or so. By the time we get there, depending on who is driving, it'll be night or dusk in the very least."
Jordan closed her suitcase and looked at the twins closely, "speaking of, neither of you are driving right? I rather not die before I reach twenty one," she grinned as Mercedes agreed with her comment.
"How much driving can we do, we're just going across the street," Piper smirked playfully at her, knowing full well what she meant, then put a hand over her heart with mock hurt, "I do not drive badly, not like you in any case."
Jordan raised her eyebrows at the brunette with a grin. "What about all those "bumps" and little accidents you've had since you've gotten your drivers license? Besides, I don't drive badly –"
"Those don't count. Really? You don't? What about that wreck that involved a certain car with a brick wall?"
"Now, that wasn't my fault, it was the damn idiots fault—" Jordan nodded, a grin forming on her lips.
Piper arched an eyebrow with her own grin, "so a brick wall is an idiot now? Wonder how that works and where I was for that revelation."
Mercedes rolled her eyes with a grin, muttering something about being glad that none of the three were allowed to drive to the Bed and Breakfast that they were staying at for the week.
"Hush Pip, it wasn't my fault. What about those two cars that you said you didn't see?" she raised an eyebrow. Piper just rolled her eyes playfully, not having a comeback to that one and shrugged with the same grin upon her lips.
Hoshiko watched the interaction between the two with amusement and started to the door, "come on you three. The guys will be wondering what the hell has happened to us if we're not out there soon." Mercedes nodded her head in agreement and started after the other brunette.
A few moments later the four teen girls made it across the street to the house that Mercedes lived in with Ben Counts and David Parker, who was just as much of a brother to her than Ben was. "Come on guys! Let's get going!" Mercedes yelled into the house.
"Good god woman, you could wake the dead," Ben leaned around the hood of the trunk of the van to look at the four of them. Mercedes whirled around in surprise, Piper starting to snicker.
"You scared me! And I do not have a loud voice!" She narrowed her eyes at him.
He grinned in amusement over at her. "Never said it was loud." He turned his attention to Jordan and motioned her over so he could add her bags with everyone else's. "Come on over so we can put your bags in here. Had to move things around because someone felt like she needed to bring her whole library with us," he looked over at Piper, who just smiled innocently back at him.
"You never know when they'll come in handy," she grinned with a shrug of her shoulders.
Jordan grinned, making her way over to him, handing him her bags. "That's not surprising one bit." Mercedes opened her mouth to comment after a few moments of thinking about what he had said when three other men came out of the house. The door shut behind them, locked. After shutting the trunk down, Ben looked around the group. "Are we ready to head out?"
"Oh yeah, and about time too," Vincent Doyle, or Vin as everyone called him, said with a grin, walking over to the group, glancing briefly at Hoshiko.
"Not our fault Jordan felt like taking her time to pack."
"Bite me, Hoshi," Jordan muttered, watching the exchange between the two with a grin. 'It's only a matter of time before they finally get together. Only a matter of time'
"So I get to drive, right?"
Ben glanced over at the girl he considered family, nodding his head with an amused grin, wanting to sit with Jordan for the trip. "Yeah, you get to drive Mer."
"I'll navigate."
Mercedes arched an eyebrow at Paul Holt, "you get us lost and I will kick your ass Holt."
Paul Holt, or just Paul, arched an eyebrow in return. "I won't get us lost, Counts.” Paul was the last of the guys in the group of eight and everyone suspected or rather, knew he had a crush on the youngest Counts. Everyone that is, except for Mercedes.
"Better not."
After those words were spoken, everyone filed into the large van that David and Ben had rented for the trip. Piper and David sat in the back with Jordan Davings and Ben in the row in front of them and the row behind the driver and passenger's seat sat Hoshiko and Vin.
